Roman Kemp plea to government over mental health support
Roman Kemp shared his fears that “he won’t be in showbiz for much longer” as he battles another serious health condition.
The TV star has recently become an advocate for men’s mental health after his close friend Joe Lyons tragically took his own life in 2019.
Roman, 30, has since openly discussed the impact of his death and how he’s also been living with another serious condition.
Speaking to The MailOnline, he revealed that he’s been diagnosed with sleep apnoea due to his hectic work schedule.
“My tiredness levels were debilitating, and they said to me it was because of my job and I said this is different,” he started.

“I was talking with people where I thought I was verging on narcolepsy because I was mid-conversation and would be snoring and not realising, it was very strange.”
Roman also admitted that he won’t be in the radio industry forever, but intends to stick around for the next few years.
He added: “I want a decade on air at least.
“I would love to be able to say I did a decade on that show – whether my bosses will allow that I don’t know.”
Roman has recently been involved in an emotional BBC Three documentary which explores improving mental health for young people.

After losing his friend Joe, Roman struggled with his own mental health in 2019 and has since tried to fight for solutions.
He used his social media to reach out to MPs and wrote a letter to make sure that schools have 100 percent access to mental health support teams.
Roman is best known for being the lead frontman at Capital FM radio. He also co-hosts The One Show regularly on BBC One.
Famously, Roman is the son of English musician and actor, Martin Kemp, and Wham! star Shirlie Kemp.
