Strictly: Nikita on injuring her foot
Nikita Kanda has shared that she suffered a foot injury just days before being eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing and is now wearing a walker boot.
The radio DJ revealed a heartbreaking image of her foot on Instagram, saying it’s her “new friend that she didn’t want.”
Last weekend, Nikita and her pro partner Gorka were eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing after being in the dance-off for a second week in a row.
It has now been revealed that she battled a secret injury before Movie Week and has now had to put on a walker boot.
Taking to Instagram, Nikita told her 35,900 followers: “Hello new friend that I didn’t want.

“None of you trolls can tell me that I didn’t dance my a*** off on strictly now…this was the result.”
After getting voted off the show, Nikita shared on Monday’s episode of Strictly: It Takes Two that she had suffered an injury before she performed a Jive with Gorka.
“I even hurt my foot the day before but we powered through. I’ve got a bandage on now so it’s not very glamorous underneath all the sparkle!” she explained.
On the night she was voted off, Nikita wiped away tears and said: “Dancing is so out of my comfort zone and I know I gave it my all especially as I’ve never danced in my life.
“I tried my absolute hardest and that’s all we can ever do.”

She also paid tribute to her pro partner Gorka in a touching message on Instagram.
“@gorka_marquez I honestly don’t know what I would have done without you,” she started.
“You were the best dance partner and friend I could have asked for, now forever part of my family. The most real and genuine person I’ve met.
“You’ve taught me so much not just in dance but in life too. I appreciate you more than you know and all the laughs were just incredible.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday at 6:30pm.
