Peter Crouch has hilariously admitted to having been a huge fan of the Spice Girls as a teenager, so much so that he ended up appearing in their movie, Spice World.
The former footballer turned sports pundit, 42, dropped the bombshell during his and his wife Abbey Clancy's podcast, The Therapy Crouch, when Abbey, 37, revealed that he had appeared in the movie.
To which Peter quipped: "It was my big break. I like the Spice Girls. I was a fan of the Spice Girls, you know, as we all were.
"Let's not pretend. They were filming Spice World The Movie, right, and it was at the Royal Albert Hall and somehow going in the ballot, I got tickets for it."
Revealing that he took his sister along to the filming so that he could pretend she was the superfan rather than him, Peter added: "And obviously I couldn't take my mates so I thought 'I'll take my sister', she's only like young and I was about 17, I think I was at Tottenham at the time."
Peter's admission comes amid rumours that The Spice Girls may reunite to perform at next year's Glastonbury, something that will likely be good news for Peter and Abbey, who were snapped enjoying this year's festival.
The reunion rumours were sparked after Mel C was asked by radio host Matt Everitt on BBC Radio 6 whether the Spice Girls would perform at Glastonbury festival, to which she replied: "All of the Spice Girls would like to play Glasto, that is the truth."
"Like I said to the audience, doing a couple of Spice Girls songs, 'a bit of a warm-up for next year?'" Mel continued.
The pop sensation, who's also known as Sporty Spice, went on to reveal that her former bandmates are "rehearsed" and "ready" to reunite for the iconic festival.
"They're rehearsed, they know the words, they're ready. So, if I can drag the other girls along… I say 'drag' the other girls along – all of the Spice Girls would like to play Glasto, that is the truth."
However, following these rumours, a source close to Victoria Beckham told OK! that she's planning to concentrate on her fashion label and currently has no plans to step into her old role of Posh Spice.
The source said: “She has sadly been hugely ridiculed when she has sung in the past. She's a different person now. She looks back fondly on her years in the Spice Girls – they were very special to her – so she hasn’t ruled out a one-off celebration, maybe, at some point."
Although, they then added: "In some ways she feels as though she is being haunted by the past every time a Spice Girls reunion is brought up. She can’t help but feel embarrassed and humiliated by the new comments."
